19/100 Hotter After Midnight by Cynthia Eden

Hotter after midnightThis was not a bad book.  It wasn’t a great book either.  Most of the elements were tried and true, but there were enough twists to make it interesting.  For a 300 page novel, there were a couple of ends left dangling that I did not enjoy.  If you are going to write something that long, then tie up all of the loose ends in a neat little bow during the epilogue.  The use of a human psychic and the intermingling of regular and paranormal elements was interesting.  There was a little too much foreshadowing for my taste when it comes to certain elements and a few others are too out of the blue.  It really was a pretty good police procedural drama, trying to balance those in the know with those that have no clue.  It was written fairly well.  A little too much carnal action…really I think if I had been in the mood for a gritty police drama this might have been alright, but I wasn’t in the right frame of mind.
