47/100 Graceling by Kristin Cashore

GracelingThis fast paced YA Romance novel was a very good book.  The characters and abilities were described without being belabored.  It is very easy to fall into the world of the Gracelings, and Katsa is simply heartbreaking in her anguish.  I enjoyed getting to know her and spending time with the princes and princesses of the realm.  What I did not like was finding out that the second book only had one character in common with the first.  Especially with the cliffhanger that was the ending of the first novel.  While it is a refreshing event where the female character is independent and imperfect, closure would have been nice.  The male lead character was similarly refreshing if a little more ‘perfect’.  I found this to be both an enjoyable read and listen, as I took advantage of the ability to switch from a printed ebook to an audio book. For a fun, fast paced non-graphic romance novel  in the fantasy genre, I certainly recommend this book.
